Boots and Saddles – video tribute to a legendary regiment

Boots and Saddles is a short bugle call to alert cavalry troopers to form up for mounted drill. Although cavalry in the modern era has not used horses for many decades, the armored force is rich with the traditions of that bygone era when trooper and horse fought together in battle.

As one of America’s premier armored units, the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment served in combat during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1972. The Blackhorse earned fourteen campaign streamers, and multiple units awards for heroism in hard-fought battles against a relentless enemy.

I tell stories with words and pictures. Boots and Saddles is my humble tribute to the great American Soldiers who served with the Blackhorse in Vietnam And Cambodia.
